Natural Ways to Stop Excessive Hair Loss

We know how horrible excessive hair loss can be. Oh, believe us we know! Sadly almost anything seems to be the cause of hair loss including emotional stress, trauma, sickness, lack of protein/vitamins/minerals, sudden weight loss, pregnancy, environmental factors, it can even be hereditary for some. There are different forms of hair loss and shedding depending on the severity of the causative factors. Whatever category you think your hair falls into, these natural remedies will stop excessive hair loss and shedding.

Hot Oil Treatment. You can heat up essential oils such as almond oil, argan oil, castor oil, coconut oil and olive oil and massage your scalp with it. Afterwards, wrap your hair with a shower cap and let the heat do your hair and scalp some good. Leave for an hour then wash off and condition your hair as usual. The hot oil treatment will increase the flow of blood to your hair follicles which will strengthen your strands.

Aloe Vera Treatment: Aloe Vera contains hair friendly enzymes such as proteolytic which help to repair dead skin cells on the scalp. It has antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties to keep bacteria away and the scalp healthy. It also deals with scalp dryness, itching, and dandruff and will restore the scalp’s pH balance. For maximum results, take a teaspoon of Aloe Vera gel daily and apply some on your scalp as well. It can also be mixed with aloe vera gel and applied to the scalp to remove dead cells and hydrate hair.

Supplement your intake of vitamins and minerals: insufficient intake of vitamins and minerals is one of the major causes of hair loss. Biotin increases hair growth and keeps it in good health, iron prevents hair loss, Vitamin C aids absorption of iron, potassium improves blood circulation on the scalp and prevents follicle malnutrition, so you can imagine what a deficiency in these nutrients will result in. Vitamins and minerals can be from fruits, vegetables and nutritional supplements such as Hair Intensity Growth Supplements. Once there is a consistent intake of vitamins and minerals, there’ll be a noticeable improvement in hair growth and health.

Boost your diet: Asides the particular focus on vitamins and minerals, you need to ensure that your diet is not just all about carbs, your hair needs protein and lots of it at that. A diet rich in protein will ensure continuous hair growth and maintenance. Protein-rich foods include milk, egg, fish, and meat. Also, include foods rich in omega 3 fatty acids in your diet.

Drink water,  this is a very simple but effective remedy. The hair shaft is made up of mostly water. You need a daily intake of about 64 ounces to give the desired results. Carbonated, caffeinated and alcoholic drinks should not take the place of water. In fact, you should avoid them as they will negate the positive benefits of drinking water and cause further hair loss instead. So, drink up!
