5 Reasons Why You Are Losing Your Hair

There’s nothing scarier than the thought of losing your hair. The truth is, at some point in our lives most of us will experience some form of hair loss. In fact, a bad hair day doesn’t compare to the two-thirds of men who will begin losing their hair by the age of thirty-five according to the American Hair Loss Association. What’s even more surprising is that about eighty-five percent of the total population will experience hair loss, women making up at least fifty percent. However, not all hope is lost for your locks. Check out the surprising reasons behind hair loss.

1.You’ve started taking a new medication

You never know how your body will respond to medication you’ve never taken before. When you begin taking medication it can bring about a host of changes you never expected. Certain medications can affect your hair growth rate as well as cause two different types of hair loss; telogen and anagen. Telogen effluvium hair loss can begin taking place as soon as two to four months after you’ve begun taking a medication. On the other hand, anagen effluvium hair loss stops the matrix cells from producing more hair. This type of hair loss is common in medications used to treat cancer.

  1. Going too hard in the gym

Are you a gym fanatic? Research shows that individuals who tend to follow a strenuous workout regimen often experience hair loss later in life. If you find that you’re in the gym more than you at home than it’s likely that your routine will affect your tresses. Balance is key.

  1. Emotional Stress

Going through something? Emotional stress can cause hair loss in both men and women. For instance, the death of a loved one, a divorce or extreme depression can have a major impact on the health of your strands. According to medical experts, emotional distress may not always precipitate a hair loss problem but it can make a preexisting condition worse.

  1. Significant Weight Loss

Dramatic weight loss, especially in a short period, can result in thinning. Even if the weight loss was necessary for health reasons, losing such a large amount of weight is physical stress on the body. It shocks your system and in some cases, you can expect hair loss for at least six months after you’re transformation.

  1. Over styling

Of course over styling your hair, using too much heated tools and chemical treatments will literally fry your tresses.  Once your hair is damaged it can begin to break off. In addition to conditioning treatments taking the Hair Intensity’s hair pills can be helpful in restoring your locks to its healthy condition.
